My Journey in Picking-up so far

When guys eventually decide that enough is enough, picking-up is simply a change in a passive attitude towards women to an active one then eventually to a natural inclination.

Picking-up for the past few months has improved my soft skills. I learnt how to manage my thoughts, instincts and emotions. I recently found out that I am most popular with people when I am being true to myself, couldn't been more grateful than this. And I am now learning how to juggle between women and studies.

Women brings out the best in men and it is a lifelong process for men. Even though I merely just started, I personally recommend picking up to guys who is looking for steady personal growth in terms relationship.

Tootsie Review

This film is basically about how:

1. an actor is able to turn himself into a woman and later, want his masculine life back.
2. his dream girl fell in love with him when she thought he is a woman.

Commenting:
1. It is really mind over body. We have people from all over the globe who make physical changes to their body to change their sex permanently and we have this actor who change their sex temporary for the sake of his job. It can be seen here that it is possible for the mind to decide and effect what gender he or she wants to be.

2. Talking about true love, loving someone who does not belong to one's sexual orientation is really pure love. But this concept is so widely exploited in the entertainment industry so much so that I really don't know is this real or not.

Talking about gay marriages, is there any case whereby 2 straight men or 2 straight women as least live together happily ever after? Not that I know of. From what I can see, for love to turn into marriage, both's sexual orientation still have to match.

Assignment 1

Gray shared with us how opposite genders can acquire the communication skills to maintain their relationship.

Women have to understand that it is very easy for men to stop talking suddenly. Gray talks about the men’s cave as a place where men will cut off all communication to sort out problems themselves. It is not advisable for women to offer help when they are in their cave.

But when they are out of their cave, they want to be trusted for their judgment and their ability to solve their own problems. Lastly, they don’t like being blame so women have to criticize them with caution. These are the concepts on how women can support a man.

According to Gray, women don’t communicate their feelings explicitly. So to give support, men have to understand their feelings behind their words.

Many times, women just need men to listen to them and in the process, gain assurance from them. These are the concepts on how men can support a woman.

Gray wanted couples to be spared of the frustration in their relationship and stressed that time and effort is required from both parties.

As a man myself, I don’t talk for long as it would mean wasting too much time on unnecessary details. I prefer to sort out my problems in my cave as sharing it with someone would mean I have to spend more time listen to what he has to say before coming to my own conclusion. Unless I am really helpless, I prefer to solve the problems myself. So what I can say is that men are basically very effective and independent creatures and women should respect their cave.

In the highly educated society, not only men want to be trusted to solve their own problems, women too. When this happens, no one liked being blamed as people have their egos to protect. However, I personally feel it is never about blaming or not. It is always about one’s willingness to learn from mistake. This should be a better way to maintain a relationship.

And from my experience, women just need men to really listen to them, period.

Finally, other than putting in time and effort to maintain the relationship, both have to truly enjoy each other’s company as there is no point trying too hard to suit the other party.

Who should change to reduce miscommunication?!

Is it the Martians or the Venusians? Its of course the Venusians. But that is not the point!!!

By letting the Martians figure out what Venusians are trying to say, Martians are actually trained to be more sensitive to people's unspoken feelings and intentions, regardless of whether they are men or women.

In all, I feel the Martians should stop complaining and learn how to listen to people's thoughts.
